Engr. Prof. Adisa, Ademola Bello, is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering, a Professional Registered Mechanical Engineer, a Researcher, and a Certified Professional Manager. He is the immediate past Registrar, Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN.
Engr. Adisa, Ademola Bello was born on 3 September 1965. He attended St. Mathew’s Anglican primary school, Kurra Falls and the Boys’ Secondary School, Gindiri, all in Plateau State. He obtained in 1989 the Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. He obtained the Master of Engineering in Solid Mechanics and Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution.
He took up an appointment with the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi as a Graduate Assistant in 1991 and rose through the ranks to the present rank of Professor in 2010. He teaches subjects in the area of mechanics and energy studies. In order to cope with the challenges of modern techniques of teaching, he established a web-based interaction with his students on his Portal since 2010. His areas of specialization are in Optimization of Mechanical Design/Systems and Efficient Energy utilization. Engr. Prof. Adisa was the 45th inaugural laureate of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University.
He has served and is still serving the academic community as an external examiner, assessor and reviewer in some universities and many professional/academic Journals and as programme evaluator on university accreditation visits. He served the ATBU as Director of Centre for Energy Research, Coordinator of postgraduate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Head of Mechanical/Production Engineering Department and Director, Centre for Industrial Studies. He has supervised over seventy-five (75) B. Eng theses, eight (8) PGD theses, nineteen (19) M. Eng theses and fifteen (15) PhD dissertations. He has to his credit over eighty (80) peer reviewed Journal and conference papers, eight (8) Technical Reports and twenty-six (26) Public Lectures delivered. He published two chapters in two books and edited a book on Engineering Drawing and Computer Aided Design. He has been sponsoring two prizes in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the ATBU since the 2012/2013 session at every convocation ceremony.
He served as a Member, Energy Thematic Group of the Research and Development Standing Committee (RDSC) of TETFund, also served as Member, Board of Directors (Technical), Hydraulic Equipment Development Institute, HEDI, Kano, under the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI). As a Council member of COREN, He served as the Chairman of Education and Training Committee and Chairman of the Technical Committee of the 25th, 26th and 27th Engineering Assemblies. He served as the 11th Registrar/CEO of COREN.
